From 20^th to 21^st of September, 2017, the 3^rd technical project meeting took place in Hernani (Spain), which was organized by our project partner IKERLAN.

Each WP-leader presented the work done and some in-depth and ground laying technical discussions took place. Furthermore, CONNECTA gave an update about the main achievements of each work package and gave a first look on their demonstrator “Connected Trams”, as well as on upcoming events. Furthermore, the risk management and milestone 4 assessment have been discussed, and the future dissemination and joint activities have been planned. Afterwards, the preparation for the upcoming collaborative AB meeting took place. Finally, in-depth discussions about the safety assessment methodology, the simulation framework, and test environment were executed. After a short wrap-up, the first meeting day was closed and the consortium members met again for having a delightful dinner, where discussions continued in a less formal atmosphere. The second day was dedicated to more technical discussions, focusing on brake-by-wire, drive-by-data, the functional distribution framework, as well as the IMP integration. Summing up, it has been a very successful and engaging meeting, providing many inputs that can be used for further research and developments within the Safe4RAIL project.
